हिंदी और साउथ फिल्म इंडस्ट्री को अभी भी यह यकीं नहीं हो रहा है कि दिग्गज सिंगर एसपी बालासुब्रमण्यम का निधन हो गया है. SPB के नाम से जाने जानें वाले सिंगर ने  74 साल की उम्र में आज अपनी अंतिम सांस ली है. बता दें कि उन्हें 5 अगस्त को COVID-19 से पॉजिटिव पाए जाने के बाद, एमजीएम हेल्थकेयर अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया था. सिंगर को 8 सितंबर को कोरोना मुक्त होने की जानकारी साझा की गयी थी, लेकिन उनके फेफड़ों की स्थिति के कारण वेंटिलेटर को नहीं हटाया जा सका.

उन्हें आज कार्डियो-रेस्पिरेटरी अरेस्ट की परेशानी हुई, जिसके बाद उन्होंने सभी को अलविदा कह दिया. ऐसे में अब बॉलीवुड और साउथ की हस्तियों ने दिग्गज गायक को अंतिम सम्मान देते हुए पोस्ट शेयर किये हैं. 

अक्षय कुमार ने ट्विटर पर SPB के साथ एक कोलाज पोस्ट किया और लिखा, "बालासुब्रह्मण्यम जी के निधन के बारे में सुनकर गहरा दुख हुआ. कुछ महीने पहले ही मैंने इस लॉकडाउन में एक वर्चुअल कॉन्सर्ट के दौरान उनसे बातचीत की थी.. जीवन असल में अप्रत्याशित है. मेरे विचार और प्रार्थना उनके परिवार के साथ #RIPSPB"
